To most brides-to-be, an engagement ring is something they will want to show off with pride, both for its beauty and for the happy life development that it signifies. However, not everyone feels quite this way.

In some cases, a sense of modesty or shyness may mean you don’t want to show it off too much. After all, not everyone is an outgoing extrovert.

At the same time, some will prefer something minimalist, rather than the big solitaire rock or the multicoloured trilogy rings some would go for.

As makers of bespoke jewellery, we are very mindful of this and can produce all manner of different engagement rings that can suit your own temperament, aesthetic tastes and budget.

Will Celebrities Inspire Your Engagement Ring Choices?

A popular approach for some couples is to seek inspiration from famous people and ask for an engagement or wedding ring that bears at least some resemblance to the examples they have seen.

Common instances would include the ‘Diana Ring’, with a large sapphire surrounded by smaller emeralds, worn by the late Diana, Princess of Wales and subsequently by Princess Katherine. Needless to say, most budgets would not stretch to an exact copy.

Others might look at some of the more recent styles on display, taking inspiration from the engagement rings worn by contemporary celebrities and looking for trends.

However, not everyone seems keen to show off their ring so that the paparazzi can get a snapshot and the watching world can gaze on the pictures.

Is Zoe Kravitz Hiding Her Engagement Ring?

Zoe Kravitz appears to have been a case in point. The American singer and actress had been expected to confirm the rumours swirling around that she had got engaged to Harry Styles by showing off her ring at the recent Met Gala.

However, she kept her hand covered and, when she eventually stopped concealing it, there was no ring to be seen. This was somewhat in contrast with the diamond ring she had allegedly been spotted wearing on previous occasions.

Of course, it could be that everyone has been barking up the wrong tree and that Harry is yet to pop the question, but it may also be that the actress, despite living her life in the public eye by attending red carpet events, decided that, at least this time, to dodge the issue.

According to The Tab, however, the couple are definitely on their way to tying the knot and the report indicated that the ring is made of gold and features a bezel-set oval-shaped diamond, a popular look at present.

Should Having Been Engaged Before Influence Your Engagement Ring Choice?

Perhaps a complication for Zoe Kravitz is that she has been engaged twice before, with different rings each time.

  •  She sported a two-carat centre stone diamond on her ring when she got engaged to Karl Glusman in 2016. However, after marrying in 2018, the couple divorced two years later

  • In 2023, she accepted a proposal from Channing Tatum and sported a single cushion-cut diamond ring for a year before the relationship broke up.

  • This time, Harry Styles is rumoured to have spent $1 million on her ring.

If you are in the situation where you have been engaged and/or married before, there may be a good reason for feeling a little self-conscious. After all, you might have been showing off a stunning ring one minute and then having to take it off.

In such circumstances, you might feel it appropriate to go for something less ostentatious this time.

However, should the rumours about a grand ring worth a cool million (in dollars, at least), that may turn out not to be the case for Zoe Kravitz. Indeed, if you have had a ring on that finger before, that is no reason for it to dictate what you wear on it now.

Instead, if your preference is for something spectacular, but to wait until you feel the time is right before showing it off to the world, you may very well be emulating the next Mrs Styles.

Why Will A Bespoke Approach Ensure You Always Get The Right Ring?

Harry may not have got the ring from us (when shooting music videos in Scotland, he prefers Skye to Edinburgh), but it is reasonable to suggest there may have been a bespoke element to it, even if the design was a highly fashionable one.

Ultimately, whether you have just got engaged for the first time or you have been in this position before, the ring you choose should always be the one you want.

That means it can stand out as much or as little as you like, matching your personality, your hopes for the future, and conveying the message you want to send to the world about you and your relationship.
